Walnut Tree Farmhouse Inns
This is a chain of Inns using this website as a group. My review is about Walnut Tree Farm in Southampton, where the standards have gone down since the Pandemic.

The food was of good standard, but today there was with the vinegar decanter, where the vinegar ran out, congealed vinegar that looked and smelled like something disgusting fell into the food.

After making the complaint, all they could do was offer free puddings to take away, but saying it would have been perfectly ok. It was not perfectly ok, the vinegar must have been so old in that decanter, and more and more topped up over the years without ever cleaning the decanter. How old does vinegar have to be to congeal?

Tasty breakfast, fab value
My wife and I had an excellent breakfast yesterday at Westgate Farm, Gyle Broadway, Edinburgh. We were shown to our seats promptly and then ordered the full English. The sausages and bacon tasted great (turns out they're supplied by Campbell's) and the mushrooms, hash browns, black pudding, etc was really tasty, and not heavy on the fat or oils as most of it grilled. Fantastic value (includes limitless coffee and toast) and friendly staff. We will be back!

2 mixed visits
Me, my fiancée and our 8 month old baby visited Berry Brook Farm on two occasions within a week of each other. Our experiences were not perfect but our visits were enjoyable and we will be returning.

Just a few things that prevented me giving full star review, the first being the highchairs out in the seating area for customers to use. Due to covid-19 we use Milton wipes for out babys seat for extra precaution, the highchair we used on the first visit was filthy but the second visit we tried two high chairs and found both were broken which meant we were unable to secure our baby.

The other thing that stopped me from giving full stars was the error with ordering. We decided to have table service instead of using the app, our order was taken and when it arrived i was given the wrong food. I had ordered a chicken burger but was given a beef burger instead. This meant my fiancée was waiting to eat with me for quite some time before my order returned to me.

The third thing which affected the rating was the baby food on the menu, i ordered a baby's Heinz pasta shapes meal and the menu clearly states HEINZ, however when it was brought to the table we were given normal boiled pasta with a pasta sauce on the side and a cheese sauce on the side. This was not adequate enough to feed our baby so ended up having him cry for almost the duration of the visit.

These small things may seem petty to some but when it comes to reviews it could be better service. I hope the next visit i can award you 5 stars.

Fantastic food and service at applewood Astley Manchester…
Went to applewood at Astley Manchester last night and it was a wonderful experience. From firstly sitting outside and having a few cocktails the staff was super helpful. And mark who took our orders was a pleasure and super friendly.

We went in for food and sat in a booth table service was great and the staff was fabulous and friendly.

Being a transgender woman i never have issue eating out or going out and felt very welcomed.

Everyone was sticking to the rules of masks and distancing.

We had carvery dinners and every single vegetable was fresh and red hot and that goes for something when I’ve had many bad experiences in carvery style restaurants before of cold food or over cooked veg.

The meat selection was yummy and meat was lovely and moist. The girl who served me with blue finger nails was super cheerful and friendly.

I even had A few lovely comments from
Staff over my nails.

I took huge selection of cakes ways home with me and two friends. And they are also lovely and fantastic portion sizes.

All I can say is staff are doing there very best to keep everyone in a safe environment while still being very welcoming and accommodating.

I will definitely be returning in the future.

Keep up the good work.

Barley farm Manchester
Barley farm Manchester
After a long time in lockdown booked for a meal for 2 adults booked for 4pm 25/5/21
Lead to our table member of staff came back with out knifes and forks and told us a member of staff is coming over to take our order, we saw members of staff and mangers and the chef laughing and having a right old natter behind the bar even the member of staff that lead us to our table, other customers started coming in and getting served so after 25 min we got up and started to leave I spoken to a manager and told him of our complaint he was unapologetic, said he wasn't aware we needed a order and asked who told us who said someone will be over to take our order my wife went and asked the member of staff that lead us to our table and she said she told Anna to take our order and the manager said Anna isn't In today and again the manager was unapologetic even on walking out the door as very unhappy customers, before lockdown we was visiting barley farm twice a month sorry but not any more, staff was to busy stood around chatting amongst them selfs to pay any attention, we have heard other customers complaining before in barley farm but we thought they where just being picky, but since this I can see why as we where treated with such arrogance by the manager and I told the manager I'm not blaming him personally for not taking our order but there a lapse of communication among the staff and management,

Applewood farm.
Absolutely love this place; the staff can not do enough for you especially under the circumstances of the current situation, they are extremely pleasant and go above and beyond to ensure you’re visit is a pleasant one. The food is lovely, have been twice in recent weeks and will be returning soon.

Pine Tree Farm
I have recently moved to the area and have visited Pine Tree Farm, Bolton tonight with my partner.
Booking online was so simple. All social distancing measures are so clear and easy to follow. All the staff were well protected and despite the restaurant being extremely busy, none of these standards slipped. Everyone was so polite and friendly.
Well done, we will definitely be back.

Poor Carvery
The carvery at the Applewood is absolutely disgusting. You will find dry/hard and tasteless veg, lumpy and very dry mash potato, massive roast spuds that don't look or taste like a normal traditional roast potato. Roast beef that is stringy and chewy, and you can finish off with tasteless watery gravy. Keep away!!!!!!!!

Visited Walnut Tree Farm
Visited Walnut Tree Farm, Southampton today. After settling down to our lunch we were approached by one of the Waitresses (45-50 years of age) who told us, in a very loud voice, that next time we visited that we should wait at the reception stand to then be seated at a table by one of the staff. I said that we did wait and that we were seated by a male member of staff. She then walked over to the male member of staff to confirm my statement. She then returned back to our table to apologise and sought aggressive affirmation from each one of us. Its a shame that she did not seek confirmation from the male waiter before bellowing out her request. Fellow diners were alarmed by her aggressiveness and her attitude as were we. She spoilt our lunch and we left most of it on our plates. She soured our experience and we shall never return again. Some aspects of the food were below par and tasteless like the over cooked carrots, Yorkshire pudding, gravy, roast beef but the roast turkey was spot on! The waitress obviously has anger issues which she might like to seek help for.

Sadly food cold and hard
I love carverys and went with my daughter to catch up with her.
The food was sadly very very poor.
The food was cold
The mash was lumpy
The veg was hard.
Very disappointed.
Next time I would get something of menu . And I would check myths overhead heaters .
We went at 1230 on a Saturday so no excuse on it being cold

Hobby Horse is a lovely place.
Hobby Horse is a lovely pub/restaurant in Syston Leicestershire. The service is brilliant and they have a wide variety in the menu, you can have a set meal or a carvery. There is also a small okay area for kids, so you can have a coffee or tea whilst the kids play. I love this place for a quick catch up or meet up with friends.
